| HAMSTER'S BALD PATCH | |
| Q | August 22, 2009 I have a Problem with my Female Hamster with a Bald Patch having developed (right hand side of her body) - from below her hip gland to bottom of Body. I had this problem before with a Previous Female Hamster (but the Vet could not find a Cure), nor a Product that would help/encourage her fur to grow Back. So The Poor mite remained through the rest of her life with a Bald Patch, but this time I'm needing "preferably a Natural Herbal Treatment/Product" - One that will be effective on Clearing the Problem up (with my present Hamster), but also of which will also be effective on stimulating her Fur (within the Bald area) to start and be able to Grow back. As I preferably Don`t want this Female Hamster having to live the rest of her life with a Constant Bald Area - I have only had her for just over 2 Months, and I think if I remember Correctly - The Pet Shop told me that she was around 9-weeks-old. I do feed a variety of fresh Veg for her, which includes Broccoli and Cauliflower (alternate mornings), green Beans, Kale, Cucumber and Baby Sweet corn (alternate both each morning), Cucumber 1 morning, Baby Sweet corn the next) - same with Cauli and Broccoli. She Loves Beansprouts - which she has most days/evenings. She also has alternate Fruit each evening (a piece of Apple 1 evening, then a piece of pear another), she also loves Melon and Pasta. Please can you help. As I`ve found whatever the Vet prescribes - has not helped, nor solved the problem with my previous Female Hamster. My present one has been scratching on occasions - when Grooming and I`ve still been cleaning her Cage out every week & changing her Fluffy Bedding (where she sleeps) practically every evening - as it has usually been a little damp. Thanking you, from Lin Greenough |

| S | August 23, 2009 Thank you for traveling all the way from the United Kingdom to visit. Here are suggestions for your female hamster's bald patch and to help/encourage her fur to grow back. Products: Pennyroyal Essential Oil Tea Tree Essential Oil Vitamin Supplement - Folic Acid Elizabeth Collar You did not mention what cause the bald patch nor did you mention if there is infection in the bald patch area. If there is infection in the bald patch area then clean with Tea Tree Essential Oil. You may want to apply a light solution by mixing a small amount of essential oil with a small amount of water. Use your discretion. If there is no infection then use only Pennyroyal Essential Oil (similar light solution). Pennyroyal Essential Oil will remove microscopic parasites and bacteria. Vitamin supplement Folic Acid promotes hair growth. The Elizabeth Collar prevents licking and ingesting the essential oil. Keep us updated as you progress. Herbs n Pets |
